Mida Creek is part of the Watamu Marine Park: it’s a lagoon bordered by a thick wall of mangroves that create truly impressive landscapes.
Thanks to their particular roots mangroves are able to live and reproduce in brackish water thus preserving the coast from erosion and at the same time offering a natural habitat for various types of shellfish, crabs and fish. In this place you can admire a great variety of birds, including herons, flamingos, kingfishers, waders and raptors.
Visit the Mida Creek on foot along a typical Burmese bridge that crosses the lagoon or on board of a canoe.
The best way to make this unforgettable experience is to sail aboard a Dhow (a traditional Arab sailing boat) until sunset.
